Registration sessions will be held Monday, August 22, 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.; Tuesday, August 23, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Wednesday, August 24, 2:30 -6:30 p.m. and Thursday, August 25, 10 a.m.-noon. A special registration session for senior citizens and high school partnership students will be held Thursday, August 25 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. To provide some entertainment for students, representatives from radio station WZMX (Hot 93.7) will be on hand during Monday’s session to entertain those registering and award prizes. “During the final registration week, we tend to register about 35-45 percent of the students who attend credit courses each semester,” said HCC spokesman Anson C. Smith. “Added to these will be students registering for non-credit courses offered by the Continuing Education department.” “All in all, we wouldn’t be surprised to see 1,500- 2,000 students pass through the doors of the college this week,” Smith said. “The festive atmosphere Monday will provide students with some genuine entertainment as they go through the registration process,” he added. “It will also give them exposure to the fun side of College life.” As has been the case in the past, HCC will offer day, evening and weekend courses. The daytime courses are tailor-made for traditional students as well as adult students who work afternoons and evenings, while evening courses are ideal for students who work a traditional day shift. This semester, HCC will offer 39 courses on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and 20 courses on Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. These courses are ideal for students who work rotating shifts during the week or have child- or elder-care responsibilities that prevent them from attending classes during the week. This year, HCC will offer classes at two off-site locations: Jonathan Law High School in Milford and Ansonia High School in Ansonia. These courses are ideal for students from the Naugatuck Valley and Southern New Haven County areas who would find it difficult attend classes in Bridgeport.
