CONSTITUTION DAY PROGRAM 9/13 AT HCC

BRIDGEPORT -- Housatonic Community College will hold its first annual Constitution Day program on Tuesday, September 13, 2005 from 6:00-8:00 pm. 

The program will feature a panel discussion focusing on the health of the constitutional system at the start of its third century, with particular attention to individual liberties and rights issues, equality, and the impact of new technologies.

 Panelists will include the Honorable Warren Eginton, Senior U.S. District Judge for the District of Connecticut, and Professor Robin Barnes, of the University of Connecticut School of Law.  Anthony A. Ball, Chairperson of the HCC Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences Department, and Assistant Professor of History and Political Science, will moderate the panel.

The program is part of a nationwide commemoration of the 218th anniversary of the adjournment of the Constitutional Convention in 1787.

The event, which will be held in Performing Arts Center at the college, is free and open to the public.

Housatonic is located at 900 Lafayette Blvd in Bridgeport, less than 150 yards off I-95 (Exit 27) and Rte 8 (exit 1), a block from the Ballpark and Arena at Harbor Yard.
