HCC STUDENTS RECEIVING
ADVICE FROM ENTREPRENEURS
Housatonic Community College business students this week are receiving advice and pointers from area entrepreneurs. As part of National Entrepreneurship Week observances at the college, students are attending a series of talks designed to promote their future career growth through learning useful management skills. The talks include:
- Wednesday, Feb. 20, 5 p.m., Room 365, Beacon Hall. “How to Start a Business” to be presented Amy Davis, Kiss-u Corps. “Small-Business Banking” to be presented by Robert El-Hage, People’s United Bank.
- Thursday, March 28, 9:30 a,m., the Events Center, Beacon Hall, “Black History Month Celebration of Bridgeport Entrepreneurship,” to be presented by Dominique Perez and entrepreneur Ivy Royster.
Noting that that “many of the new jobs created throughout the United States in the last decade are directly attributable to the creative efforts of entrepreneurs and small businesses,” Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, in a National Entrepreneurship Week proclamation, stressed that “entrepreneurship is vital to Connecticut’s economy, future growth and prosperity.”
