BRIDGEPORT - Former Talking Heads Drummer Steve Scales, now a human services major at Housatonic Community College, is the subject of a feature article in Community College Times, the national professional periodical for community colleges. Scales, a Bridgeport resident formerly of New Haven, has also performed with the likes of the Tom Tom Club, B-52s, Tina Turner, Yoko Ono and jazzman David Sanborn. A Vietnam-era Marine Corps veteran, Scales sees the need for counseling among returning veterans and wants to help Scales, a self-taught musician, can offer interesting first-person commentary on the music scene from both a technical and personal perspective, including his relationship with the personalities with whom he’s performed.
