The myCommNet Alert System - Text Messages to Cell Phones

We are pleased to announce that the myCommNet portal will include an exciting new service available to all students, faculty, and staff. This new service called myCommNet Alert is a notification system that delivers critical information to students, faculty, and staff in the event of an emergency through text messaging over cellular phones.

Please take a moment to register yourself at myCommNet.

Once logged into myCommNet, students, faculty, and staff will have the opportunity to register for myCommNet Alert. Registration is free, voluntary, quick & easy!

  • Please note that text message costs will follow your calling plan’s terms for receiving and opening text messages.
  • If you choose not to enroll in the system, you will not receive emergency alert messages through this system; therefore, enrollment is strongly recommended.

The myCommNet Alert emergency text messaging system will only send text messages in an event of an emergency which may include campus-related immediate health or safety situations, but NOT weather-related class cancellations.

Once logged into myCommNet, you will see the new myCommNet Alert Channel on the Home Tab directly above the Public Resources Channel as illustrated below:

From the myCommNet Alert Channel you can create your account, make changes to your account profile, and review commonly asked questions via the FAQ link within the myCommNet Alert Channel illustrated above. Again, to learn more about myCommNet Alert, please login to myCommNet next Monday and visit the myCommNet Alert Channel on the Home Tab to locate the FAQ link.
