
This course is designed to introduce students to Computerized Numeric Control (CNC) concepts and fundamentals. Subjects include basic codes and syntax for NC programming, data formats and computer/controller protocols and operation. In addition, job related communications with other disciplines such as CAD/CAM are explored.
Intermediate level. Advanced operation codes and coding techniques are used to solve manufacturing problems in classroom and hands-on environments. Tooling considerations, multiple axis programming on mill, lathe and complex coordinate data are included.
